Talked Em into her first SF Randonnuer ride this past weekend. All in all, not bad for 70 miles, 4K of climbing and her second time on the bike with clipless pedals. I totally missed the weather report and we were caught unprepared for the cold, foggy, sunless day. Luckily, we made it with some help from Dan and his extra gear and a mid-ride bike shop purchase. Still, we danced on the edge of cold exposure, which I regret and feel completely responsible for. Despite the hurdles, we biked strong and I’m proud of how we did without an ounce of preparation.
Who knows, maybe we’ll be ready for the Pt Reyes ride in a few weeks? More layers, more snacks.
Vacation with Em’s parents in Mendocino County. Weather cooperated, views delivered and many sea mammals were on display.
We need need more professional clowns in our lives, not clowns who are professionals…or presidents.
